Crazy looking cichlid baby

I haven't bought new fish for this tank in over 9 months maybe more there is no way that fish is that old. It was definitely bread in this tank. Not disagreeing on what kind of fish it is just don't think it is a pure bread. Some rusty cichlid look just like normal but I know I only have one female in the tank only one rusty cichlid in the tank. Sometimes mothers nature dose unexplainable things.

My dogs had puppy and not one puppy looks like the parents or each other. I have included pictures of the dogs both of them have the same parents could you tell lol.

Unexplainable things like spawning a fish from a different genus, and an entirely different continent? EBA are American cichlids, not African. Not to mention the electric blues are a man made color variety. There's no possibility that you produced that by chance from a mix of African cichlids. I'm not trying to be rude here, but that is a specifically bred for fish, my guess is that you bought it young in one of your group buys and it's just now starting to color up. That's why it suddenly became noticeable from the rest of the group.

The fish is only 2 1/2 inchs big. I guess it's possible if it's a very slow grower. But I have 1/2 inch baby peacocks in that tank that will be that size in in 10-12 weeks

Just because it looks like one doesn't mean it is

Both of your dogs, and both of their parents, are 100% pure dogs, Canis familiarus or Canis lupus familiarus depending upon who you listen to. There is no hybridization involved, they are all pure dogs, just different "morphs" or varieties.

This is a far cry from crossing and hybridizing different species of cichlids within the same genus, and worlds away from mixing fish from different genera.
