Fishing experiences

nice fish! I was just on a musky charter in callander bay up here in ontario. No musky but plenty of walleye. The ones your catching are walleye, you can tell bc of the white patch on the bottom tip of the tail fin. sauger and saugeye dont have it
Thank you, I’m having him for dinner tonight lol. My local lake stocks saugeye. Not walleye… I’m sure if I catch a walleye at Lake Erie I’ll be able to tell the difference. Do you know how walleye will be in Marblehead area this week?

Rtc/tsn Rtc/tsn if you have a boat find a drop of and vertical jig thats how I was catching them over the weekend. From shore I would just have a jig with a paddle tail or a curly tail and just cast and retrieve while popping it.

Don’t have a boat. When I go with my papaw we might have one though. Currently don’t have anything with a paddle tail but have lots of soft plastic curly tails. Was reading up and saw that there’s sea lamprey there. Is it safe to stay in the water in the same spot for long? I most likely won’t be doing this because there’s a pier but if I see a spot that looks promising would it be okay? What color do you suggest for a curly tail?

I dont general wade into the water so I cant tell you although lampreys prefer deep cold water if I remember correctly. The color depends on the conditions so I cant tell you which one is best
Thank you. Definitely helped a lot. One last thing… should I bring a bass and catfish pole or 2 bass poles?

depends on what your doing and what your local laws are.
Don’t really know the laws up there. Done some research and still am but so far it’s looking like the Regular 2 active poles per person, can’t find much on hooks, snagging, or permits along with public access and license. I’m guessing since I have a 1y Ohio fishing license that I can fish anywhere in Ohio but honestly… no idea at all lol
