Hello everyone I currently own a 75 gallon freshwater tank with some average sized oscars, a dwarf pike, and an average sized jagur cichlid.

YES I AM AWARE that these fish will grow larger and will need a larger tank eventually.

Anyways, back to the original topic. I am moving to a house that has well water with a softener system. I don’t want to use the well water for my tank because it has a yellow tint to it which i dont prefer visually and also it may not be healthy for my fish. Before at my old place I used the tap city water at my previous place with prime added to it. Im looking for an alternative water source that is affordable to do large water changes with. I usually do 30%-50% water changes weekly/biweekly.

Any advice is appreciated thanks!

Yeah, if my well water were coming out yellow, I'd have it tested...and I wouldn't even be thinking about the fishtank until I knew it was safe for human consumption.

My well water is clear, odour-free, pH about 7.1 or 7.2. As stated by celebrist celebrist , having this source of healthy water requiring no pretreatment is a joy.

algae scrubber is the solution to doing waterchanges for nitrogen removal. pike needs soft water jag comes from alkaline and soft. jag will eat a dwarf pike too. also you could just use a buffer of some kind, even peat moss.
