Actually the snail I had in mind does not look like either of those photo subjects.What you are thinking of is the bumblebee snail, Engina mendicaria, a saltwater snail that looks almost exactly like them. They have a smoother shell though.
Looks like a turbo. Maybe an astrea depending on how triangular the shell is, but from this angle turbo is a good bet.Actually the snail I had in mind does not look like either of those photo subjects.

Turbo snail? It has those similar bumps or ridges on the shell.
I wouldn’t worry about direct feedings. They scavenge.I also made sure to crumble a flake a the bug bites near him so he might get some before the cats ate it all.
