Hey there MFK! I currently have a pair of severums raising a solid batch of fry (I estimate 75-100 still alive at this point, 5th day of free-swimming), and I was just wondering how quickly they'll reach 1 inch? I'm currently feeding 3 times a day, baby brineshrimp.

Water changes will be the most important fuel for growth. Do them regularly and you should have 1” fry in 8 weeks or less.
Hey, follow up question for you, Ryan. What would you recommend be my water change schedule for them? I'm currently doing 20 percent every week and the water is in really good condition. Do you think that's good, or should I change it up?

I personally prefer larger weekly changes (more than 50%) especially as Severums aren’t particularly sensitive (like discus) I would increase that. Also depends on the size of the tank.

That said , success is success. Your fish are looking good. How old are they? I just got a Rotkeil from tangled up in Cichlids that was 1.5” and assume he is at least a couple of months old. Will be interested to see the progress your fry make.

Hard to tell how old they are as they came with a 125 gallon i bought off someone on Facebook marketplace haha. I've had them for about 2 months now though, and they were about 5 inches when I got them, maybe a little bigger now. They're in a 55 gallon with nothing else (aside from the fry obviously). I'll be sure to update as the fry progress! And thanks for the advice on the water changes, I think I'll up it to at least 35 percent every week, maybe up towards 50.
