Dog hair in water

I have 3 boxers, 2 brown and 1 white and all 3 of them shed a lot and are always getting hair all over the house and now that it’s getting hot out and we have all the fan on through the house I’ve found on occasion pieces of dog hair and even a strand of hair that looked to be from my little sister. How can I prevent this and Is it harmful to my fish?

I haven't found a way to prevent it. The best way you could decrease the risk of it happening is get a lid/cover for the tank. But I have never had a problem due to our dogs hair in the tank.

That’s the odd thing, I have a lid on my tank lol. I have one feeding slot taken off so it’s always open so it’s easier to hand heed him but not sure if that’s the issue.

A tiny amount of dog hair probably wouldn't alter the water chemistry. A big clump of it might increase nitrates.
Flea & tick repellent residue in sufficient quantity could potentially be lethal.

Don’t use flea and tick repellent, we have medication in pill form for them. Main thing I’m worried about is the FH eating a bit of dog hair because they aren’t able to digest hair

Hair is everywhere in nature lol same with fur not going to hurt it just one annoyance is the filter intake can get clogged up
