I’ve had this fish for well over a year, maybe coming up to two years….I sit and watch him, feed him, he lays still when I do 90% water changes and knows the routine by now…when I watch him he watches me through his plants. He doesn’t beg for food or attention and is generally happier when I’m not around. I’m not even sure what I did to offend this fish ??
clearly FH didn’t get the genetic personality from the melanura lol
anyways I’m leaving for work this morning and I grab my bag from the chair in front of the tank and he freaked out hitting the lid and stunning himself, I’m out of town for the entire week and will not be able to monitor him except through my bf who is home and hates fish.
I asked how he was doing on the phone and he said he was just floating in one spot and seemed to have trouble keep upright ? I’m not sure what I’m going home to next weekend but asked my bf to dispose of him if he dies and not tell me until I get home. This will be a long week of work!
and while I’m here in my hotel unable to do anything I’m just thinking how much I wanted this big dumb beautiful fish and hating his rock like personality ?
