Just stepped on API test tube that just fell the same time I stepped on it barefoot and you bet I bled quite a lot in the tub. It stopped bleeding ? but seeping blood still 8 hours later I’m now feeling the burning of the muscle pain yea it was pea size depth of a stab and am trying to avoid urgent care trip for antibiotics as it’s the foot thing that’s concerning where all germs/bacteria is at.

I’m getting worse with my hand/eye coordination isn’t that precise at times so am looking into getting test tubes replaced with plastic would that be a bad idea?

I’m no chemist and would plastic vitals with exact same Water amount ? would it be ok? Will those test chemicals interact with those plastic vitals that’s available everywhere online? Anyone have recommendations as I have also cracked/dropped few of the glass ones holding them while cleaning them out over the years just never stepped on one til now

Check out my recent, "it's raining vials" thread in the lounge. I took a couple of dozen of those plastic vials home to replace the very few glass ones I have left.

I work with plastics and I have no qualms about using plastic vials for my water testing.

As a chemist I have used both plastic and glass tubes.
The primary concern with either in getting accurate results, is proper rinsing in-between aliquots.
In the lab we would rinse each tube 3 times with DI water before each and after each test to get acceptable results.

thank you for giving me the confidence to try the plastic and will do distilled water method rinse everytime to get a better reading

Now that that’s all settled, please have your foot checked out ASAP. If you need antibiotics it’s best to start them right away. And a good look see would be a good idea as well. Want to make sure there’s nothing lurking in there. Also they can do a thorough cleaning.
