Nosocomial infections
Yes, such as MRSA. No matter how careful staff are, it happens, much more so than most uninformed folks could ever imagine.
Nosocomial infections
Probably folks with PhD's leading the discussion......
In Canada, even folks with PhD's are smart enough to get the vaccine.
as does his sister who loves in Canada , who oddly enough also has a PhD. I guess she missed the memo about being too smart to get vaccinated?
I think that only one person here was considering that, and it certainly wasn't me. lol
BTW - young nephew of mine who is studying medicine is currently stationed in London (or just on the outskirts) and he said that while working on a covid ward, they only had surgical masks to wear, no face shields, no N95 masks. He now has vaccine x 2 at least, as does his sister who loves in Canada , who oddly enough also has a PhD. I guess she missed the memo about being too smart to get vaccinated?
My dental school training was pre-mask/gloves. A couple of years later, HIV was discovered. When I started masking/gloving, my patients questioned me. I would tell them the story of a dental hygienist with a herpes lesion on her hand who proceeded to infect every patient she worked on. My patients were then very happy that I took the precautions to wear masks and gloves.Yes, such as MRSA. No matter how careful staff are, it happens, much more so than most uninformed folks could ever imagine.
Interesting. I did post the link about who is refusing the vaccine and did mention PhD led the tally so I guess I am the one. Wonder how many references I have made about it?
eally sad to read this. N95 and KN95 masks are now readily available. There is no excuse for not providing them with the PPE they need. Everything I read on the internet is recommending KN95 or N95 masks for EVERYONE.
There are now N95 surgical respirators available for health care workers which in addition to being N95 masks are also ASTM Level 3 masks. N95 filtration: 95% of particles .3 micron in size. ASTM Level 3 filtration: 99% of particles .1 micron in size and the material is fluid resistant.
While COVID-19 virus size range from .02 - .5 microns, they are not free floating but attach to a droplet particle which can range from .5 - 20 microns in size.
The trouble with surgical masks that are ASTM Level 3, is that the masks do not seal around the face, so an N95 respirator is the better option.
What I can't believe, is how some folks don't seem to understand the part in the TOS here regarding politics. Most here understand plenty well the whys & why nots of what is going on behind the scenes. We just aren't allowed to discuss it.
Sorry, I ignored that part today because I’m not Canadian. You can’t be billy jack if you follow the rules.
This is walking on very thin ice. You should consider yourself lucky that Oddball and Rob are not active currently. This thread is a mess.People of opposing political parties in America are screaming at each other to drop dead because they are the wrong color, party, sex, or religion. Those folks don’t care about dialogue anymore. When they say “we need to have a national conversation” about something, what they’re really saying is they want to spread more propaganda to support their position.
