Not-recommended fish mixings you have gotten away with

I'm shocked about the Colombian sharks. Never had them but apparently their small fish appetite is insatiable.

In my teenage days before internet it was anything goes.
I had all sorts of combos that worked at least in the medium term, convicts with angels or african lionheads with gouramis and rivulatus and tetras.
They were all in a 4 foot tank. Probably if the fish have enough space they will learn to coexist. Water conditions were never a consideration back then.
I dont recommend doing it now I have learned more and like to see natural behaviour but what we used to call "community tanks"were pretty freaky back then.
Its funny that the idea of a biotope was not common at all but having malawi cichlids with cories, clown loaches and tiger barbs with a pictus cat and a few of several types of tetras swimming around wouldnt have raised an eyebrow.

I tried a con with mbunas, took an hour before I had to pull here, she would have died in a day.
