EBJD don't want eat.

Hi, i bought this 25cm male EBJD 3 day ago, but it dont want eat. I tried hikari gold, blood worms, worms and still nothing. Would anyone advise what to do to make EBJD eat? I never had a problem with eating cichlids, they always ate the day I bought them.

I wouldn't worry one bit. Keep offering what you would like it to end up eating. If not eaten, then remove (unless somebody else in the tank eats it). Maintain excellent water quality. It will turn around and eat, and a few days wont harm it.

Check ur water quality and look out for its poop. Kee nitrates below 20ppm. Give a few days and retry feeding. Wait and see if it works out.

I've had the opposite experience. Newly acquired fish always take a few days until they are comfortable enough to eat. They can go a long time without food so don't panic yet.

I‘ve had the same „problem“ with a 7 inch midas I got. Didn‘t eat for over a week. I would say it’s absolutely normal. They will start eating when they‘re comfortable.

I hope the seller didn't stick you with a full grown sick JD. If the Blue Jack doesn't begin to actively eat in a few days, be a good idea to consider dosing a dewormer. JD's in general are prone to Hexamita.
