Not necessarily; wood doesn't normally have termites in it...until it does. That stand might have been in perfect shape before the little guys moved in, and of course that begs the question of how did they get to it originally? They would likely have been noticed during the construction of the stand if they were already there.

Best possible scenario: a winged female got into the house from outdoors, made its way to that stand, set up shop and created a colony. Getting rid of the stand before they spread would be the end of the problem. But...you know they are already trying to spread. Can you be absolutely certain that you got every last one of those winged breeders?

Worst case scenario: the termites already were established somewhere in the structure of the house before they spread to that stand and were noticed. Most houses are built on a wooden framework, covered with various exterior sidings or overlays. Even "brick" houses are still really just wooden houses with brick facades applied to the exterior. They are vulnerable to major damage by termites in some climates.

No joke; I'm as serious as a heart attack right now. Get a reputable professional to appraise the situation and treat the problem.

Bingo! I think this is correct. Have you actually seen any workers? The ones in the video are the winged reproductive form, virgin queens and drones heading out to start new colonies.

I would be really concerned about the integrity of that stand. Whether termites or some weird carpenter ant, when you see a few or a few dozen winged ones, there are many hundreds or even thousands of workers hidden inside. And when you see a little hole that they made for the breeders to escape, there are likely large areas of honeycombed wood beneath the surface.

I'm usually the guy telling people to relax when they are freaking out about some harmless bug, spider or other little critter in their tanks or homes, but I think you have a real problem that needs professional appraisal and attention, sooner rather than later. Good luck!

Yea the stand you can remove witch I would do immediately and get and exterminator in there to spry or do it your self Termites will do massive amounts of damage very quickly If a house has termites you can't even buy it for it in Fha loan
