Very cool!
Interestingly enough, I was looking into licorice gouramis today!

^That does it, I've got a new candidate for what to put in my 110 liter! If, of course, I find it captive bred anywhere - which doesn''t seem to be very likely :cry:

I wouldn’t count on captive for a lot of fish (most of your loaches aren’t even)…actually getting them imported is the real trick!
 
Yeah, pretty much all loaches (with the exception of golden weather loaches) are wild caught, as are many other fish (eg: pictus catfish). But gouramis (dwarf, pearl, blue, fighting fish, etc) are usually captive bred because of how easy it is.

You are right about getting them imported. That's actually what I meant - I would want some to be imported so that they could breed up a good enough population in captivity to supply the aquarium trade without depleting the wild population, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon and possibly ever.
