Oscura heterospila...

IMO they grow too large for either of those tanks. Put them in a 6’ footprint.
I know they'll eventually outgrow the 90 . I'm no way going to keep a 16-17" Bgk in a 48x18 . But I also know that all the fishes I'm stocking the tank with are relatively slow growing. Not as fast as other large cichlids. I'm very much aware of the max sizes these fishes reach at maturity. What I was looking for is if the heterospila will be a good tankmate for a senegal or a severum. Thanks

You could grow it out with the Senegal in the 65 for a a while. They should do fine together. Only thing is bichirs have a hard time competing for food with a lot of cichlids but with just one it should work out. Heterospila are usually very slow growers so you have some time. Would get him in something bigger when it's no more than 6-7 inches.
