Unpopular Opinions - Arowanas

Seems like there are lots of hybrid fishes coming Asia. If someone can hybrid the Asian arowana with a Jardini, that would make it legal to export to the USA. Genetically it won’t be an Asian arowana but looks similar. That would create a market in the USA. Maybe they have to be of a certain size so it’s distinguishable before it’s exported. Just a crazy thought.

Yeah, and plus I'm sure there are plenty of different variations of jardini just waiting to be bred that we've been sleeping on

. Notice how every other Asian aro has dropeye but you never see a jardini with it.
I can't say I recall ever seeing any Scleropages aro with DE and I have seen tons of photos and videos of them over the years.
Agreed. Leis especially, because despite being common in their native range, and being listed as least concern on IUCN's red list, they are still nearly impossible to find in the aquarium trade.
I've wondered why Leichardti are so scarce in the hobby compared to the jardini.

Every other video I see of an Asian aro it has dropeye ??‍♂️Look up Asian aro vids on YouTube. You’ll see what I’m talking about
Cases of dropeye in Asian arowana are rare. I do live in Singapore where many Asian arowanas are sold and traded, many do not have dropeye, probability is Low. Silver aros on the other hand, different story
