Your loudest eaters?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My flagtail makes loud smacking noises when slurping flakes (or any floating stuff) inside his feeding ring. His whole body vibrates in unison with smacking noises, and spilling a lot of the food he wants concentrated. It is all good, everybody get to eat it outside his crazy vibrating.

My parrot used to make loud popping noises as he ate, hasn’t as much recently.
My sev will occasionally bang the lid.
Silver dollars splash around.
And as an honorable mention, my pistol shrimp. Technically this isn’t the sound of eating, but whenever he drags something into his burrow, you can hear him snapping anywhere in the house.

Jelly Cat. His loud snapping POP! when he inhales a nightcrawler or frozen fish offered at the surface by hand never fails to startle, regardless of how often you hear it. It sounds like a .22 rifle firing. It's especially entertaining when my wife does the feeding, as her Homer-Simpsonesque little shriek when the fish does his thing is absolutely perfect. Add the delighted giggling of granddaughters as they watch the whole thing and you have a wonderful show! :)

Hah! You and me both...:)

Despite my terminal technoplegia, I will try to oblige. I think I may have posted pics twice in the couple years I've been here; video is even more daunting. But I have a secret weapon; my oldest granddaughter is helping me set the trap and will be doing the vid work. Fingers crossed...

My clown loaches. You could be forgiven for thinking there was an artillery barrage in the tank whenever they eat frozen food out of a suspended tea infuser.

It's kinda funny how the other fish react to the noise. When the severum "Pops" loudly the rainbows and hrp jump around. When my Oscar goes up top with a "SHLOOP GULP" the acaras bounce off each other and the synos bang their heads on the glass freaking out.

As usual, absolutely nothing phases the parrot Boss. He could care less while everyone does their ping pong imitation.
