picked up

another JD, EB Acara , and Jag - got them in QT

hoping for a pair of ea - can’t seem to find GT - only imperial tropicals -

Going to put some of these once they have grown in 400g system with Leichardti -

pair in 150g - 4’x2’x30” and the smaller females in 125g -

Thanks all for input!

I will say that my male jd has always had very strong blue bearding:

A female would have more blue blotches on the fill plate.
I believe there is also a difference in profile. As you can see, @Jexnell’s female had a rounded head, while a male has a sharper snout and concave head:

These differences don’t show up till a bit later on though. This was mine when I first got it:

Wow. Very nice Jd’s! This is the fish that got me into cichlids. It was the jags that sealed the deal.

Excited to see these guys develop, I have a 5” yo yo loach that i struggle to find a tank to keep him in, he either ends up being food or harasses tank mates… he was chasing harassing a Jag …. nope, Lil 4” Jag put him in his place ?

Thanks! Beleive it or not those are all pics of the same cichlid. It’s amazing how much lighting and mood can affect color. He will go between jet black and bluish gray, but always keeps the bright blue and yellow pearling.
