What would you do with a 125?

We'll see on the Pearsei. You really think one is going to get too big for a 180 with tankmates or you think the SDs are too big as tankmates? I am downsizing from 3 pearsei to 1 soon (have someone taking 1, maybe 2 in a week). I've had the cichlids Since March and the biggest is probably only 7". I keep the tank warm and do 2 40% water changes a week but maybe I'm underfeeding.

My pearsei had to be moved from a 150 gal to a 300 gal Rubbermaid as adults.
I have a 180 now, and looking at it, maybe for 1 adult pearsei, but that pearsei will make it look kids gold fish bowl.
By the way, I attended a talk by one of the leading ray experts, she goes to the Amazon every year, and runs a public aquarium ray exhibit.
When asked what she thought was the smallest tank one could keep the smallest species of ray in, successfully, her answer was nothing less that a 300 gal,

Since I have moved to a new city that has different water peramaters than my last. I would go with some Andinoacara Pulcher, a big school of Black Skirt Tetras, half a dozen Pimelodus pictus, finally a Bushynose pleco.

That sounds like a nice tank., I'd copy that but swap the Bushynose for a L240 or L14. Love me some fancy plecos.

How long did it take for your fish to get that big? I was hoping for faster growth out of my guys.

About a year and a half to 2 years to reach 12" for female, 14" for males, they were the only fish in the tank.
In the 150 they started squabbling just before that size, the 300 cooled things off considerably.

Ok, so I'm tracking that way I think. I've got one ( the middle sized one oddly enough) that has turned into a bully and is getting rehomed in February.
