Hi guys, thought I would share my new tank setup with you guys with my baby south american cichlids. Wondering if I could fit a electric blue acara in with the current stock? I think I'll be pretty maxed out once fish are adults and will need to upgrade to a 6ft.

Stock-
1x Chocolate Cichlid
1x Gold Severum
4 x Redhead Geo's
1x Bristlenose

Tank dimensions
4ft x 2ft x 2ft

The fish are small right now, and not the most aggressive species typically, It would likely be fine to add an acara. Whether the stock will outgrow the tank is another issue, and I think you are right you may eventually need a 6' tank for that list. 105 not a bad grow-out size though, and will buy you a good amount of time.

Agree with Gourami Swami.
If it were me, adding a shoal of eastern S American tetras, or other type dither fish instead of another cichlid would be more applicable..
At maturity the Geo's will fully dominate the substrate area of that size tank (the same area the acara mainly uses).

Awesome what are some good dither fish suggestions?

There are dozens, of Tetras and other Characins from the Amazon that would live in the same water parameters, but I would look for those that get large enough not to be eaten, but not get large enough to outgrow the tank.
Tetras like Lemons, black skirt, and Serpae would be some of my choices.
But there are probably hundreds more.
Cardinals, neons, and others of that size are obviously eaten.
