I'm getting back into the hobby, and really don't have anywhere to keep tanks. I'm thinking of trying to find a basement or something to rent so that I can have as much space as possible. Would anyone be interested in sharing a space (and maybe equipment) for a fishroom? I'm pretty flexible, as long as it's within 25 minutes by bike from Nostrand and L. We could try to rent either a basement or studio space or something. I would like to stay around $400/month each, but I'm flexible.

Not a bad proposal at all but I'm born and raised in NYC and if the rent for the place is $800 I can imagine what's involved getting into the building. Also the cost of utilities would be INSANE with an apartment full of tanks with heaters, pumps, filters and lights running. At least someone could have a place to sleep once the Mrs. finds out where all your money has been going.

Oh, I was figuring $1600/2=$800, and nonresidential, nonretail spaces are cheaper. Yeah, utilities be crazy, I give you that. it was a starting number.
