Stocking ideas for my 90 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I’d definitely recommend more than 15% per week.
Do you have a water siphon like a python? Makes water changes super easy.
Personally I’d do 50-80% weekly or every other week.
You may want to look into convicts rather than fm - they can hold their own a lot better. Similar size and waste but a lot tougher.

I have a python and I honestly couldn't imagine being able to mantain my 55 gallon every week without it. I've been thinking of convicts but could I do a pair of males instead of a male and a female? Don't want to deal with the rapid breeding. I've done some research about them online but could never find out about a double male stocking

I’d do two females over 2 males - less chance for a war but I don’t think that’s impossible.
They will lay but won’t be fertile without a male.

Will do then. Any places where I can buy them all when I'm ready? I want them to be medium sized when I get them and live aquaria only has those that are an inch or two.

Honestly would just having an Oscar or two and those being the only inhabitants be better than my current plan? Or is it insubstantial for a 4 ft tank?

A 90gal is too small long term for even just one Oscar, really. Space wise, IMO, they get much too large for a 4ft tank. Bio load wise, you'd be doing a LOT of large water changes. Absolutely not two.

Ok thank you! As you can see I'm very new to keeping big fish. Currently the biggest fish I've kept is my 3 ish inch fancy goldfish lol. Might just settle with angels honestly and save a new world cichlid setup till when I have a 6 foot tank

Angels actually are a new world cichlid, a good way to get into cichlids.

And plus I can put some community fish in. If you don't mind checking my stocking again, maybe ill do a school of 6 angels, 14 cardinal tetras, and 8 corydoras. I would put it in aqadvisor but it's not working well for me tonight ?

Angels are a seriously under rated cichlid! I have a soft spot for them and every few years I decide I want an angel tank again, and there are so many really stunning varients available now.
