need help with stocking ideas for a 500 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
But you’re not helping, you’re giving incorrect info

I realize the inflexibility was a mistake. I'm referring to the opinions on tank size, Stanzzz sharing his opinions on tank size helped me update mine and I'm hoping to continue that chain.

Edit: Actually I mixed up clown knifefish with black ghost knifefish when I said inflexible. I know for a fact black ghosts are inflexible.

The tank size info is also incorrect, there’s too many variables to just tell people “fish of a certain size needs a certain size tank”

Which is why I said it was my opinion. Just like Stanzzz did.

That opinion was formed with the inclusion of my experience keeping fish with activity levels from sedentary to hyperactive. I'm not just repeating Stanzzz's opinion, in fact theirs is that the largest fish they want in a 2.13m x 61cm x 61cm tank is 15-20cm. Even larger tank sizes than my opinion.

We all have experience keeping fish, but unless you have experience with the fish in question, you’re just repeating what someone else said or wrote

It's fine. Thanks for the info. I am going to be waiting til the Clown Knife gets bigger to move with to the future 450 gal predator tank, so it will have 1 ornate bichir, 1 clown knife, and maybe my albino oscar since it's my biggest fish in my cichlid tank. Someone told me that a tiger shovelnose catfish can eat full grown ornate bichir so I don't think I will get a big catfish. But if they are wrong let me know

Yah the shovelnose will outgrow the ornate faster than u think, it will get eaten up since bichirs are more lengthy than their width. You can try vulture catfish

Okay sounds good, and do you think an arowana would work? (all fish would be similar size once I set up this tank)
