Flint town!
I have a group of 12 yellow congo tetras. I am playing with the idea of putting them in the 125 with my fahaka. I am less worried about the Congo tetras more so with their aggressive feeding and swimming upsetting the fahaka. I typically hate threads like this but I'm on the fence like I've never been before. The fahaka has been living peacefully with a golden nigrita syno for about 6 months. The syno is same size or larger and very sendentary, so that may be why. I am slightly worried all the Congos activity may upset the fahaka and either lead to their deaths or his discomfort.
Opinions? Please and thank you.

It's a no go for me. With something as aggressive, observant, and intelligent as a puffer, the addition of fish so hard to ignore is probably going to spark some real fury.

How big is the puffer?
My guess is that despite how fast the tetras are, they will eventually become lunch.
He's around 5-6".

I'm more worried about them bugging the puffer then him eating them. I don't doubt he can possibly will. It's just a thought I've been playing with. Obviously I'd watch the first meeting and decide on whether he has interest in them. But say on the off chance he doesn't have any interest in them even just initially the main question is do you think they'll disturb him too much? It wouldn't take much from a group of Congos to mess up a bigger slower fish. It's probably too much of a risk on that part then him killing or eating them, I don't want it to happen. I'll try to get them out of harms way if it does. The him not ignoring them in a detrimental way to his health is my worry.

My thoughts are that they would mess with the puffer, and it won’t take much longer before it kills them as a result.

Yeah kinda my thought too but I was thinking they'd harass him and stress him to the point of not eating and possibly dying even if unintentionally.

Either one doesn’t sound like a good outcome

If they indeed stress out the fahaka, chances are they wont last long as you’d be amazed how fast a fahaka can bolt towards prey when it wants to…
