No screw .18!! I wish we were still drilling and exporting oil, then we wouldnt be as affected by the BS going on across the pond and would still have affordable oil. Whats wrong with that thought?? Why are we in this situation? Well where does the blame start? If not him who????

Here are the sections of the speech from Jan 2021 that many have (falsely) seized upon that the President is "outlawing oil."

And when the previous administration reversed the Obama-Biden vehicle standard and picked Big Oil companies over American workers, the Biden-Harris administration will not only bring those standards back, we’ll set new, ambitious ones that our workers are ready to meet.

We see these workers building new buildings, installing 500,000 new electric vehicle charging stations across the country as we modernize our highway systems to adapt to the changes that have already taken place. We see American consumers switching to electric vehicles through rebates and incentives, and the residents of our cities and towns breathing cleaner air, and fewer kids living with asthma and dying from it.

And not only that, the federal government owns and maintains an enormous fleet of vehicles, as you all know. With today’s executive order, combined with the Buy American executive order I signed on Monday, we’re going to harness the purchasing power of the federal government to buy clean, zero-emission vehicles that are made and sourced by union workers right here in America.

With everything I just mentioned, this will mean one million new jobs in the American automobile industry. One million. And we’ll do another thing: We’ll take steps towards my goal of achieving 100 percent carbon-pollution-free electric sector by 2035. Transforming the American electric sector to produce power without carbon pollution will be a tremendous spur to job creation and economic competitiveness in the 21st century, not to mention the benefits to our health and to our environment.

...

Unlike previous administrations, I don’t think the federal government should give handouts to big oil to the tune of $40 billion in fossil fuel subsidies. And I’m going to be going to the Congress asking them to eliminate those subsidies.

We’re going to take money and invest it in clean energy jobs in America — millions of jobs in wind, solar, and carbon capture. In fact, today’s actions are going to help us increase renewable energy production from offshore wind and meet our obligation to be good stewards of our public lands.
Hello; interesting. A cherry picking of one of the rare appearances that happens to fit the narrative you favor. Thing is there are several other instances where his comments were not couched so mildly. He has actually very directly made statements about ending fossil fuels on a few occasions. Yet somehow you seem to expect those of us who have seen these videos to not believe our own ears.
Makes us , me at least, figure you do the same sort of cherry picking with your other posts about oil prices, inflation and other such issues. That I have seen these videos played on TV many times the last couple of years is a fact. You wind up having no credibility at this point.

Do you support the President's proposed action to reduce gas prices by about 18 cents per gallon?
I support any reduction in cost, but 2 dollars on a tank of gas isn’t going to help me.

We ARE still drilling and exporting oil...actually MORE.

U.S. crude oil output is expected to rise 720,000 barrels per day to 11.91 million bpd in 2022, the government said in a monthly forecast on Tuesday.

U.S. crude output is expected to rise 940,000 bpd to 12.85 million bpd in 2023, according to the same monthly report from the Energy Information Administration. U.S. total petroleum consumption is due to rise 730,000 bpd to 20.51 million bpd in 2022.

And we're actually exporting MORE than in prior years: https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/oil-exports (look at the 5 year view)

How about starting with Putin.

And then the MBS, MBZ, the OPEC cartel and oil companies, which are keeping production low to maximize profit and support political allies.

And then people who choose to buy cars that consume a lot of gas. Personal responsibility.

As much as you might like it to be the case, the President doesn't control global oil prices.

Well where does the blame start? If not him who????

That's the thing: I posted a *primary document* - literally from the signing ceremony for the executive orders in this ... and not some edited, out-of-context talking-head nonsense from Fox.... which is probably what you've seen "many times in the last couple of years."

Why won't you do the same and post the full-unedited transcript of Joe Biden saying what you say he does?

Hello; interesting that you can find so many links and quotes to post and somehow cannot find the videos of him talking about ending fossil fuels. Also of interest is how you keep trying to imply that I am listening to some spin from a TV talking head with an agenda. Again videos exist with words out of the man's own mouth.

Last thing is I have been burned on this site before. There have been the favored and the out of favor in years past. Same scenario in that you may get away with posting some content while I cannot. In fact I was placed on probation while not having broken any site or posting rules. I had opinions not in favor of some at the time. Besides as evidenced by your posts you are a true believer not to be swayed. For years and especially the last 18 months or so this information has been presented many times, must be you just do not want to see.
