Oh, I get it now...you mean your portico...

Back in Ontario I tried keeping a tank on my veranda, but my wife insisted we move it onto the terrace. I miss that place.

I'm doing a few home improvements on my place nowadays and intend to put in a patio. We'll definitely have a "summer tank" out there. If the sunlight causes too many algae problems, I'll increase the shade by converting the area into a colonnade. :)

Ok ok, consider mine and kriches brains well and truly scrambled now, stop it.

Though I do think you need to add a pergola too when you start your build. Maybe for a lovely wisteria or clematis to gallop through. That's if wisteria and clematis come in winter hardy varieties that can withstand your brass monkey winters!

I had a nice vestibule photo that I'd meant to show you but it got deleted somehow.

I'm a little concerned now that you collect pictures of vestibules!! Are you ok krich? Lol.

During spring we have wasps and bees making nests, no where near as big as that one, ours are tiny with just a couple of dozen individual insects.

They make them in the most annoying places though. A couple of years ago one queen bee in spring decided to build her little nest in my lawnmower in the shed.

It wasn't until the summer started and the lawn started growing vigorously that I went to get my mower out and discovered all the activity.

That whole summer I had to borrow a neighbour's mower, lol.

Yeah it's about as big as a basketball and while the insects do not bother me I was a bit bothered afI realized that I have been pretty much walking underneath the thing all summer long back and forth to my yard.

Well here's a photo of a few more backyard residents.

That's a huge wasp nest . The Yellow Jackets love my house I believe it's the color. My house is gray and one season had to destroy 3 nest. Two of the nest were under ground. Got stung once. My neighbor is allergic to bee stings so destroyed a nest for him.
Oh how can I forget they found away in my basement had baby yellow jackets flying in the house.
