Green Terror tank setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
After looking at all those brands, I would go with Hikari. So at 4 inches, Hikari Bio-gold if you can get it. Supplement with live meal worms occasionally or Tetra freeze dried river shrimp. Do not overfeed GTs. They tend to have stress poo (clear poo) when fed too much.

In the end, get what brand is easiest for you to get, and do not feed a lot. Not being fed 1-2 days a week would be good for it.

Thanks for replying!

Will surely get bio-gold but you said that gts have longer poop meaning they are more herbivores than something like an oscar and bio gold has 45% protein content so, will the gt stay healthy with the high protein content?

Also, should i try to make my own fish food? As i think i will be able to make something better for them for either the same prize or maybe even cheaper than hikari as hikari food is quite expensive here.

I would look up gel-based recipes using agar. If you can add spirulina and aquatic vegetation like seaweed to the ingredients than that would go a long way to making really good fish food.

I use Azoo Ultra Fresh Royal Cichlid (among other foods). The ultra fresh range seem to have good ingredients. I should think the occasional meal worms, earthworms and/or small ramshorn snails (if you have some in another tank) would be appreciated.

Also yes, you can make your own food. And include some veggies and/or Sprirulina.

Howdy, sorry to invade your post but I can’t figure out how to post anything. I read MFK all the time but finally made an account, I currently have 5 tanks…. Anyway someone wants me to take this in vs them killing or releasing it (I know I thought the same thing) but I can’t identify it. Any ideas would be awesome and also info on how to post or maybe I have to be a member for a time before I can have my own posts… thanks guys!
