I sold all of my plecos L333 , L173 and many more, because they were all in hiding most of the time and would only come out for food at night. I hated them as I want to be able to see them around like my other fishes. It appears that that the most sought after and beautiful ones are the most shy. I have bristlenoses and they are not shy and I like them, but they do not have wonderful colors

I was wondering to know if there is any other pleco other than bristlenose and sailfin pleco that would not be shy and can roam around the tank.

I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you

I've had several of both species and L200 have typically been fairly active for me, as long as they're happy with the tank and water conditions. Current one is the Baryancistrus version, wild from TUIC. Was immediately comfortable in the tank, immediately swimming around and eating algae, as though it felt like home. L260s were fairly active for me, in some moods more than others. Other species I've had varied, some more shy, some active in some moods and not others, etc. Some of the smaller panaque types I've had were reasonably visible or active.

Get yourself some l144a blue eyed lemon or long finned super red bristlenose!
Mix it up!

I have had long finned supper red adult size and I kept them for a year and they were so so shy. shier than L333 and L201. even the male one was shy which really pissed me off. Now I have snowwhite bristlenose they are not shy, but they just have a white color and blue eyes, nothing so exiting about them. I wish there were other plecos I knew that are not shy and they are more in open area like the common bristlenoses.

Thanks. I might try L260
