Amatitlania siquia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No good deeds go unpunished. Me trying to be nice caused chaos. Woke up this morning to a dead variegated Molly. Mr. Siquia has been a straight jerk since introduction of the female's. So action was taken. Bagged up the three girls and took them back. Grabbed six Plattys while I was there and another bag of Caribsea planted plus. Wasn't deep enough to hold the plants down, now it is. Well the Vals are all doing great. All five of them already have runners with baby plants sprouting. 20220807_152939.jpg
This one has two of them already.
They beat up the male Molly, bite off the bottom fork of his tail and one of his pectoral fins.

Looking all innocent, I didn't do it...

I'd recommend getting some wild mollies or something, only tank mates I've had success with with bagaces was poecilia salvatoris. Plain, grey, very active, always moving. If you can get some female wild type latipinna, or better yet catch some, those would work great. Steer clear of tetras.

Well.he is back to his calm self now. He don't even bother chasing the dithers. Just goes about nibbling on the plants and branches. Moving random pieces of substrate around. Let's hope it stays this way.
