Found a good deal for a 1 inch++ baby kamfa. Im wondering what potential this kamfa has at this age/size. I've been told by the seller he's an f2 kamfa

So far i like the look of him even at this stage. I like Flowerhorns/kamfas that have nice pearls and intricate details in the colour pattern of their scales. Especially ones that have a colour pattern (pearls ?) all around their heads.

Nuchal hump size doesn't matter much to me as long as their colours pop. Although a good nuchal hump won't hurt neither.

And btw the pics don't do much justice. It was screenshotted from a video. Couldn't upload it because of the video file. But if more input is needed perhaps i can convert the file to make it easier to judge the kamfa (preferebly not)

If I was a breeder, I wouldn't cull him. As far as what potential he has, can't really tell until they hit a few inches.

Depending on what you like. I'll not buy this.
And what exactly did you not like? This kamfa has all the signs of a future excellent kamfa: lots of sparkle dots, dots on the face too, hump/KOK potential is visible even at this age.

Not saying this kamfa is not good, but just not the type I prefer to have. The base colour not so strong, some good potential kamfa I have seen of this size can already see some redness (subjective). I also prefer those with red eyes. Anyway this size is still too young to tell the potential. But if the price is good, just buy it and groom.

Those traits that I mentioned are very rare. Maybe 1 to less that 5 fries in a batch. Once you keep them you have to keep for very long time, so I try to get those "better grade" ones.

I agree with this. Flowerhorn have the potential to live a long time. Buy the best you can reasonably afford and don't skimp.
