Freshwater Clams

Has anyone tried keeping a few freshwater clams with a piranha? Just thinking the little clams might boost the water quality a bit but are there any downsides?

The bigger issue you will have is keeping the clams alive. They are finicky with water params and need a lot of food in the water to filter feed.
I doubt there would be much of a piranha compatibility issue though.
