Got another batch of fry off of my peacock gudgeons. Normally I’d chuck them in one of my ponds to rear, but figured I’d give a breeder box a try.

I personally like breeder boxes. What are you feeding the fry?
Gonna start with green water, then move onto paramecium, baby brine, the DPR pellets.

IMO ponds are way better. Chuck the eggs into my tubs filled with natural foods, algae’s and microfauna, then I come in autumn and move them into grow out tanks until sold.

Awesome pair
I have a nice little male
Super cool fish can’t wait till he hits the size of your male

Wow that's awesome. He's protecting them right?
Sort of. kinda hard to explain, but essentially they lay there eggs in a crack (tubes in breeding tanks) and fan the eggs to stop fungus and incubate them, and also protecting them.

they are awesome. I'll need to get a better pic didn't realise the crappy ones had uploaded.
I originally bought 3 males, and one turned out to be a female, so that was a pleasant suprise!

I didnt realise these are classed as an endangered species in PNG, hope you can keep pumping them out.
Yeah it's quite sad. They are around, but they're not exactly common.
