Air pump for fish room

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not sure I can get a jehmco here in Belgium or Germany and if I import it il pay tax double price of the pump. Unless someone sends to me and brands it as a 'gift'. Il need to look for another brand I could get but I watched review of jehmco and looks like a nice product

Jehmco is a distributor and not a manufacturer of pumps. If it is that you're interested in the LPH units discussed prior they're made in Japan by Nitto Kohki and you likely have a distributor for same in your area.

What about a pump like this? Is also with piston?
Did you want to be able to be in the same room as the tanks? Same building? If not those are great noise make that happen to blow air.
I ran one for a while and it could be felt through the kitchen floor and heard throughout the house.
I now run a Jehmco DAPMH30 with 15 air drops from a 1/2pvc loop on the ceiling of my fish room.

I run one BUYO SES-40 and one Hailea V-60 running 24 air lines shared between them (20 lines to tanks, 2 to 3ft deep indoor pond and 2 to 6ft deep koi pond (although lines only run to 4ft deep)).
Over the past 10 years I have only had to replace one diaphragm set on the Hailea but had to replace the full BUYO (more to my inept rebuild skill, breaking parts/wires) . Of the two I would suggest the Hailea to be slightly quieter of the two but they are in the fish house so no issue with the humming.

Contact some other fish keepers in your area and see what they recommend. I also have 2 Alita air pumps and they are also good.

Depends on how high you mount the air pump, the manifold you create, the number of drops and the depth of the tanks

Also depends if your running bare lines to bubble, filters or air stones. (Note that old air stones take some getting air through so need replacing). You mention that you already have a pump on a tank, check what l/min it pumps, how many lines it’s running, if your happy with it, and multiply up for how many lines you want your new pump to run. Should give you a rough size pump.
