Tropheus dubiosi In a 55 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
goldhead comps, orange leleupi and some tanganyikan gobies.. you'll have some nice personality in that 55

Sounds fun but I hear the lelupi can be a bit of handful. What do you think would work, a couple of each?

this is how it currently sits with a few mollies to keep the tank cycled.

Looks like anything other than rift lake cichlids setup.

the rock work isn’t complete by any means. But is There anything else in particular you see as an issue. I’m sure the plants will be an issue but those are just there if they get uprooted I won’t be heartbroken.

The plants are fine. I would not include the spider wood. If you are adding julies or other rock dwellers a larger rock tumble is needed.
Im also a bit of a biotope snob, so take my opinion and toss it on the rubbish heap or not.🙂

I would not do 2 rock dwellers...either leleupi (probably not leleupi) or altolamps but not both, and I would skip the gobies, or maybe have them as the solo bottom dweller.

I understand, trust me I plan to add a lot more rock work, I was more just playing with this type of rock to see if I liked the look. I don't blame you, biotope tanks are beautiful.

What do you think would go with the altolamps in a 55?

Shellies or Synodontis for the bottom. Maybe non jumbo cyps for the top.
