does anyone actually have experience with baby fly river turtles? billy has little holes in his shell. i have been seeing conflicting reports on the best water conditions. at the moment he has:
ammonia-0
nitrites-0
nitrates-0
ph- 7.8
alk-120
kh-120
gh-75-150

he eats algae wafers.

not sure if he’s eating the snails, ghost shrimp, or blood worms.

water temp is 86

should i add aquarium salt or make the water harder?

Cute turtle. I know it's a different turtle altogether but I used to keep eastern painted turtles, even successfully bred them once. To keep their shells healthy I used to keep some egg shell (crushed or crumpled) in the water.

7.4 to 7.8
Needs to be higher… I did a little research fly rivers live in high ph waters and looked at so many videos Ohio fish rescue and predatory fins also mentions it…higher ph will take the rot and the shedding away in a couple weeks it not an over night thing…. Plus I have about 6 fly rivers that I take care of ranging from 10”-4” not gonna tell you I’m an expert because little is known about them and I learn more and more every day..
