I killed a group of tetras on accident recently.
Has anyone else done this on accident?

I believe it might be helpful if you say how you did so. I personally almost killed a few tetras when I was younger. I was moving them between tanks, had been called away to help my mother with something, and accidentally forget they were in the net which I had left on the rim of the tank. Luckily they lived even though they were out of the water for I don’t remember how long.

The heater was off, but there was a high wattage light and the temp was way over normal temperatures.
was at 99 degrees but the cichlid lived after i removed the light.

Almost killed a group of congo and a bichir because the the tap water will switch between warm and cold even when I tried it out beforehand. Turns out the water I was putting in was around 95 degrees. Caught it early so there wasnt any huge damage.

Had 8/10 CPDs get killed in my tank overnight, by I’m assuming tiger barbs. I watched them a bit after acclimation and they mostly hid in the roots of my pothos but the next morning it was a bloodbath. I assume the tigers waited until lights out and went to town.

It was a good tank size, 75 gallon, had 15 tigers and they had never shown any aggression to anyone but themselves until then. Felt terrible for the poor danios.

Interesting and I wouldn't have expected that. Tiger barbs are cranky but almost exclusively amongst themselves. If you had say, 1-3 tiger barbs I'd expect they'd raise hell w/ every other tank mate but a dozen or so and they'll usually be jerks exclusively amongst themselves.

That’s mostly how it was. They just nipped and buzzed each other sometimes. I had some roselines in there, and I wouldn’t say they seemed stressed, but they were always scattered by the tigers. They didn’t really shoal up as much with the tigers in there. The incident with the danios is the first time they went out of their species with their aggression. It was also the first fish they were around that was smaller than them so who knows. Eventually they got their own tank and turned on each other. The school got diminished below a good threshold and I didn’t want to build it back up so I rehomed the last 8 or 9. All in all they were an active but frustrating fish.
