Hey guys - So I have a 96x30x30 tank and am looking into stocking it. No fish in at the moment. Looking more for big fish. Looking to have some fun discussion so I'm wondering what everyone would stock with and also what fish would require more space so I know what to stay away from. I'm guessing I should stay away from Temisis and Gourami?

What species do you like such as SA, CA, African, Asian or other?

I really like predatory fish but feel as though I should do something a bit less extensive to start. Was really into the idea of a Piraya or Arowana but I'm going to leave that for some years down the line (not sure if 30 w is too small for an Arowana anyway). Not really a fan of mixed African Cichlid tanks (with that rainbow look) for the most part.

But I do like Red Tails, Silver Dollars, Uaru, Datnoids, Geophagusm Monos, Archers etc. I like the idea of each fish having it's own presence in the tank. But then I say that and go gogogaga over Peacock bass or something lol. Just looking for ideas I guess and some fun. I'd be cool to have something like an Archer and Mono/Silver Dollar tank or a Datnoid center piece with some schooling fish for flair.

The monos and archers are brackish fish, so you can't mix them with the other fish on your suggestions unless you plan on doing a brackish tank. But the silver dollars would be an awesome alternative to monos (to me they look like them to a degree with the tall silver disk-like shape).

I'll have to look into Brackish - if at the very least to learn more! And yes i love the look of Silver Dollars but prefer the Wide Bars and Blackberries.
