I "rescued " a few Severum from a local pet store. They were about 1/2 inch in size in August 2023. Two of them immediately claimed 1/4 of the tank.

The pair had babies in September and just had babies again. The first batch has around a dozen babies. This one has many more but they are the size of a pinhead.

The father is only 2 1/2 inches long and the mother is 2 inches.

The mother's stomach and fins turned bright red before she laid her eggs.

Is it normal for them to breed that young?

I was told these are White Severum, but the look pink to me.

Thanks

Welcome aboard

Those look like pink convicts. Severum typically would be much larger before breeding and they get big. But its very hard to tellnin the picture. The angle they are at id swear they were convicts, but then again my eye sight isn't what it used to be.

Welcome to the forum!
Definitely just pink convicts.
Hope they didn’t charge the price of a sev for them…
