Just set up a new 65 gallon tank. Its on a plywood stand that has a flat bottom (no legs) for some reason a small portion of one corner is not touching the ground. I am able to slide a piece of paper 2 inches in under the stand and floor. Will this be a problem? every other part of the perimeter touches the floor.

You may need to place a shim under that area. I suggest moving stand in a different area first.

actually just realized the wood might be settling on its own I tested it earlier today and just did it again and I can only get .5 inches in the corner with paper. I don't know If I want to shim it if its perfectly level tank and stand.

I have another question though do rimmed tanks need to be supported throughout the whole perimeter of the bottom rim? I only have the sides and part of the middle supported by my diy stand.

The 4 corners would definitely have to be supported. I would add a 2x4 or if middle is off most of aquarium perimeter place a plywood top to stand.

Can you post a pic of the stand?
Corner and middle is supported
It’s not a aqueon brand tank but it has the same type of rim and thicker glass. Used it with an aqueon 40 breeder for a few years before upgrading to a taller aquarium

I'm assuming you already checked for leveling.
yeah I did I ended up moving the aquarium to a new area because the one corner didn't fully fill in a day later. The warranty by the aquarium company voids it if used with a different stand and not having the entire perimeter supported. I'm not too worried about the warranty itself just want to know if its in imminent danger of failing.
