Idk I've caught bass about 2 ft and that size is bringing back those memories
That’s a good sized fish, but I think it’s mostly a great framing job by the photographer. I used to be a fly fishing guide (five years), so I know a thing or two about this sort of trickery. Some people are great at it. My guide buddies and I used to practice taking “fish pics” with random objects for fun and seeing how big we could make them look. One of my friends can make a regular sized eraser look like a 10 pounder lol. The key is to get the fish out in front of your body while giving as little reference as possible at the same depth in the frame. Keep your arms straight and hide them behind the fish so they stay out of view and tuck your fingers under the belly because it’s a dead giveaway if there are monster fingers on the camera side of your fish. Angle the head slightly closer to the camera than the tail to add some length. It’s an art. This is a simpler case though. Just dangling it on the line way out in front of the kid. All we have for reference is the split shot and the hook
