Hey guys, i recently purchased the ray from a LFS and she started to gain these white splotches over her, could this be a bacteria infection? also she eats 3 times daily, krill, ghost shrimp, and earth worms, but she has not gained any weight from when i got her. I need to deworm her could you guys give some medications links i can use safely for her, for the deworming and the bacteria infection would be greatly appreciated.

I experienced this before. Looks like slimecoat peeling off. Check ur pH, probably too low. Quick fix: add sodium bicarbonate to increase pH to around 7 again. kno4te kno4te would know some internal parasite medications.

High range pH lowest pH can only go to 7.4. That means your pH is possibly below 7. Get the normal pH range test, it may indicate your pH even being below 6 which is acidic for stingrays.

Then I am unsure of why the ray could be losing slimecoat. Could be possible new stress of introducing it into a new tank. As long as it is eating it should be okay for now. Eating is always a good sign. Your ray has tailbones showing and looks awfully skinny, since it is a pup try to feed it 2-3 times a day to gain weight.

Welcome to the ray club. As far as your initial question, you can deworm with prazipro and aquarium salt for the bacterial infection. But just like others suggested, your ph is probably off but something is affecting the fluctuations, which is usually a product of ammonia and nitrate breaking down into the water. 2 weeks between water changes is too big of a gap, with the condition of your ray I would do water changes every other day. Also it looks like he’s fighting off parasites and bad water quality, you can especially tell by the visibility of hip bones. Does it still eat? As long as it still eats you can still save it.
