What do you guys think the chances of an 18" Male Dovii and 12" Aimara coexisting in a 300 gallon? Trying to sell this beautiful beast of a Dovii and getting no takers. I have a divider I can use short term. Aimara outgrowing his grow out tank fast. I'm attached to them both but if had to decide I'll keep the Aimara. Getting another large tank is not an option. I'm also wondering if I keep the 2 together with a **** load of fast swimming dithers would that help. If so which dithers?

Take this idea with exceptional doubt, and with approximately 300 tons of salt, but...
Maybe you could do that thing people with african cichlids do and use other cichlids to stop the dovii from bullying the wolfish, all the while all the other cichlids are able to distribute the hostility between them.

This is probably a horrible idea, but it IS an idea.

Unfortunately, between Dovii size and aggression as you said you're going to have a hard time rehoming him. As for the co-habiting both are known for their aggression, and both have the teeth to back it up the Aimara doubly so. So, any altercation will likely be very damaging. I personally wouldn't want to risk it. As tlindsey tlindsey said a divider if you had to cohab them would be the best option.
