Giant Gourami won't eat?

He was reluctantly taking some flakes this morning, so hopefully he will continue to eat. Can I feed him lettuce at this size (6cm)?
 
Lettuce is fine, just chop it up small so it's easier to eat
 
Will definitely try that, also, he was eagerly taking flakes this afternoon, and I will probably try him again on frozen bloodworm tomorrow.
 
Hi, I have a GG about 13 years old. About 4 years ago it'd stopped eating and I'd switched from flakes to veggies... It used to eat spinach, lettuce and peas.
Fast forward 4.5 years, same problem resurfaced. Doesn't wanna eat anything... Puts food in it's mouth and spits everything out since 3 weeks.
Iv changed the water, completed the metronidazole treatment (100mg/100lts) then changed 75% of water. Quite clueless what else I can do. Please help

It could very well have something to do with the age of your giant gourami.
