Info about Darters?

So in my continuing quest to find the perfect "Mini Perch", I've begun looking at the Genus Percina, darters, but I am wondering, what really are the main species, since they are so diverse, and how do you actually care for them. also, species recommendations if you have them

I've personally kept a group of Rainbow Darter. They are native to my state of Ohio.
Rainbow Darter requires cool fast moving water's. Kept in temperature under 70 degrees is best. My central air conditioner stopped and I started losing the darters. I regret not having aquarium in my basement which stays cool. Feeding them was not difficult ate non living foods.
Besides the Swamp Darter I believe most can be cared for like the Rainbow Darter.
