Are there any medium size (20-30cm) catfish that are commonly available?

Im planning on setting up a 100 gallon tank and keeping senegal and delhezi bichirs

Striped Raphs would be perfect; they have legit armor and can easily hold their own but are not aggressive. Another option if you want to stay true to the region is some Syno cats. The larger kinds of synos, like syno eupterus/featherfin squeaker, easily get 7 inches and can get much larger. They are also taller and more "full bodied" than raphs, making them more noticeable.

Once had a synodontis Angelicus. It was kept with mbuna cichlids and was territorial and would fight the mbuna. I honestly wouldn't put any synodontis with a bichir because of that experience with the Angelicus. Also it's going to be a challenge to feed the slower Senegal and delhezi bichir with a fast and territorial catfish.
