Ich or sand on pike cichlid

He darts around all the time, I'm sure he scratches himself every now and then, I'm more worried about the white spots and if it's a disease, what do you think?

I just re read this, and I misunderstood what you asked. No he doesn't scratch his sides or anything like that. I thought you just meant by accident like he scratched his side or something.

I thought I saw a spot not too long ago, but this has probably happened in a couple days because I have a picture of him exactly 7 days ago and there's not a speck on him. Ive read about the aquarium salt, does it harm any of my fish or plants?

Depends on the plants. I’ve found that some like hornwort will melt back, but tough plants like java ferns or Anubias will be fine.

Yeah i have anubias, ferns and an amazon sword. Ive talked to some other people and I think im gonna dose 1 tablespoon per gallon and leave it in for 4 weeks.

should I use ich x? Ive never had any disease in my fish tank before, I do 25gallon water changes about twice a week

Not sure what size your tank is But 25 gallon WC 2x a week seems a little light i would do at least 50% 2x a week. I also see that you added . 6 geophagus that I just got, did you not QT them? i bet thats where the ICH came from.

It probably is, where the ich came from. I dont really have enough room for a qt tank. My normal tank is a 125 but it probably only has 100 gallons of water with all the sand and wood i have.
