What is the biggest fish I could keep in a 200L tank?

Personally, I think the best options for a 55-gallon tank would be Convicts, EBAs, Geophagus Tapajos, or Angelfish. Some of these can mix, and others can't. As fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 said above, it depends on whether you want quiet, peaceful fish or aggressive "glass bangers."

Also, Striped Raphael catfish are one of the best options for a "mini-monster" catfish if you are interested in catfish. They are nearly identical to Irwini Soldier cats yet are a fraction of the size.
Tapajos may be too big for a 55, as while they are one of the smallest true geos they still need groups.

Looking at the list above and a 122 x 45 cm footprint, I'd recommend a group of pictus catfish. While not as large as other options, they're active and fairly hardy fish, and leave you some space to add a couple other fish once you gain some experience with the setup.

I'd also give the Neosilurus hyrtlii some consideration. I'm not familiar with tandans and its maximum size is beyond what I'd consider comfortable in a 200-liter tank, but with strong filtration it could be feasible to keep it in a single-species setup, at least for a couple years.

Ehh...he could keep one. I have one, and he has been perfectly happy alone; I would never put him with multiples of his species. For a group, I'd agree for something larger like a 75, but for a single one, I think 55 gallons is perfect.

i'm not really interseted in ciclids tbh
Good call given you're in Australia, might I interest you in a gudgeon? I'm not sure what species exactly, but there's a lot to choose from and you may find something that fits the bill, a lot of colorful ones across a wide range of sizes that will eat fish. Look for something in the 15 cm range (max) for a 200L

That's not good... If he's aggressive then that's from stress of being alone, most shoaling/social fish get territorial when kept solo or in too few numbers

WHat about a silver perch? They are native, hardy, and they can live in a 150L so 200 should be fine

No, he isn't aggressive at all; he is assertive but not aggressive. That's why I said I would never put him with multiples of his species because it could ruin the peace. Trust me, if he were aggressive, I would net him out so fast it would be funny, lol.

Did you used to have a discord tag that was something to the effect of "shredderup"? I promise this is relevant
