It’s very bold and unafraid of people. Its appearance is noticeably different from that of Vittatus, with a disproportionately large head and extremely thick jaws. Most importantly, it’s extremely aggressive—it will attack fish of similar size without hesitation, something I’ve never seen in any other ATF.
I’ve seen many people claim they’re keeping a BATF, but in my opinion, most of those are just misidentified VATF or TATF.🙂

stunning fish

Is he not behaving that way as he is cooped up in such a small space? whats he like when hes in main part of tank?
It’s still too small to be placed in the large tank that houses bigger fish. It's generally believed that ATF thrive better in open water environments, so I think it would become even more aggressive if I put it in the big tank.

Doesn't look like BATF to me! His adipose fin isn't jet black which is different...his adipose fin look more blue like TATF but head shape seems alittle different as well. Keep growing him out and with size we will tell ! Looks dope tho

Never kept mine in a smaller tank so couldnt say but the two I had didnt display that kind of behaviour in the big tank with tank mates which is why i wondered.

He is a lovely specimen I'm looking forward to seeing his progress on here
