Sudden blindness in Fire eels

Hi - what did you end up doing and how did your fire eel do? My fire eel developed - rather suddenly - a cloudy eye over the weekend and I’m trying to decide if I should medicate (if so, with what) beyond adding in aquarium salt. While it doesn’t provide much insight into whether this is an injury vs infection, my tank and water parameters are well maintained and the fire eel and the other fish in the tank all appear to be otherwise healthy.

Sorry for this very late reply. Unfortunately didn't survive for long . It was really unfortunate.

I’m very sorry to hear that. My fire eel fully recovered. My best guess is that it had scratched its eye on something. It took a couple of weeks for it to fully return to normal, and has been fine since. I also rechecked my tank and removed anything that I thought it could have scratched itself on.
