Poorman's Monster Fish Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Current setup so far. Today I will be weighting some of the sand toys with stainless bolts, but keep them light enough to be picked up or pushed around. I am going to leave some floating at the surface to act as cover when the lights comes on.

This thread is funny! And loaded with Information. I might want to have an Oscar! I have to Self Report Parka Parka myself about this new idea!

Weird humor but I'm still here soaking it in. But I keep going back to the poor Oscar in the 75gal. I'll need to recuse myself at this point.

I forgot to mention you can get fake lily pads on amazon to help block overehead light. They come in packs with multiple sizes.

Just an observation electronics and water don't mix. just sayin'.

Lily pads. Terra cotta pots work too, just have to make sure they haven't been exposed to chemicals. Good to soak for a few days before use.

I put 1/4" x 1" bolt on a few sand toys to see how they sink. I am very pleased. I hope the Oscar can have fun moving them around. I have some "Finding Nemo" bath toys coming in. I will sing a few more. The bath toys coming in float and are roundish and have no holes. I am going to cut a small slit and put pea gravel with different weights. I hope to have one that almost floats, so when the Oscar bumps it it will almost bounce away. I will seal the hole with aquarium safe silicon.

STUMP
That is the name of my future Oscar.
Once the tank is ready, I will search for my pet fish who will make the perfect "STUMP"
Yep, I am putting the cart before the horse...

I would love to get DawnMichele DawnMichele and her view on this....her Big Boy was in a standard 125!

one could say it's a squeeze play...
Hi everyone. If I could go back and do it all again. I should have put Big Boy in a BIGGER tank. The 125 was too small for him. It's unbelievable how big they get so fast. 😲

You just messin with us now with the toddler deco? 💀… Such a stark difference from the top tank that looks very nice.

I have 75g in my fishroom and it’s got a sunken ship and the air powered diver/chest. Pretty much bought all the original decorations I had in 80’s for a bit a nostalgia.
Sunken ship and those divers that go top to bottom are classick 💀🤙
