I have had this black arowana 3 years in an 8ft aquarium, adding fish 3 months ago but they don’t even look at each other. Arowana lately seems to eat less and less. I use to throw kills small handful of the small food sticks and he would devour it, now he just slowly eats 3 or 4 of the small ones. Behavior has been around 4 weeks and he continues to just slow down, I am getting a bit worried. Nitrates were around 40 for a little, but usually they are around 20, ph about 7 everything else always perfect. Why is this happening, is it passing way?

The black arowana looks healthy. It may be a maturity thing where it stops eating like when it was younger. I've personally had fish change eating habits when they became older.
It’s been a couple months, I added some Datnoids after who only eat krill, and shrimp and this woke up his hunger. He even has jumped and bit my hand when I am throwing food in now and pushes all the fish around to eat huge change. Seems to me he was very bored of the diet, and the change and new competition was a complete change.
Before he was also skittish for 2 years before … now with the new food and Datnoid tankmates he reminds me of my flowerhorns so happy now
